Ares Plumbing & HVAC performs sewer camera inspections across the Wasatch Front. We run a waterproof camera through the line from a cleanout and show you the footage: roots, cracks, bellies, offsets, or a clean pipe. An inspection is the only way to know whether a sewer problem needs a cleaning, a spot repair or a new line.

What is different in Utah
Many Wasatch Front homes built before the 1970s have clay, cast iron or Orangeburg sewer laterals. In most Utah cities the homeowner is responsible for the lateral out to the main, so its condition is worth knowing before closing on a house.

Frequently asked questions
Should I get a sewer inspection before buying a house?
Yes, particularly for an older home or one with big trees. A standard home inspection does not include the sewer line, and a replacement can cost thousands.
How long does a camera inspection take?
Usually under an hour when there is an accessible cleanout.
What if my house has no cleanout?
We can often get access through a roof vent or by pulling a toilet. Installing a cleanout is a worthwhile upgrade if the line needs regular service.
